Aditya College of Pharmacy pays special attention for the management of degradable and non-degradable waste by focusing on reduction, reuse and recycle of the waste. College uses different dustbins to segregate solid, liquid, plants, sanitary napkins, etc. waste. On daily basis the waste is collected in bins and disposed to a place with the help of garbage collecting vehicle where the waste is converted into recyclable components such as manure.
Aditya College of Pharmacy also takes initiative in avoiding plastic items to ensure that wastage is degradable and recycled and for this purpose college uses utensils made of glass and stainless steel in college canteen and hostels. Different dustbins are placed at different departments and on each floor of the college campus so that segregation can be done in an efficient manner.
Persons involved in collection and segregation of degradable and non-degradable wastes are advised to take full precautions while doing their tasks by wearing masks, gloves, and boots to prevent transmission of infections. Our NSS volunteers also demonstrate the proper procedure of collecting and disposing the waste to the persons involved in waste collection from time to time. College also takes special measures in recycling of all the waste produced from its campus.
Pollution from around causes a lot of litter in our neighborhoods, which can have a negative impact on our health. There is a significant environmental and social concern, thus Aditya College of Pharmacy, took significant action to control trash by safeguarding the environment, and fostering a pleasant environment. Two bins for wet waste and dry waste are stored in departments and hallways and are used to collect rubbish produced by the administrative office and department. The housekeeping team collects rubbish from the numerous trash cans that are located in each department. Waste is collected in the same way from canteens, apartments, hostels, and guest houses. The cleaning crew routinely dumps the accumulated trash into large containers. The garbage is then separated into its many components, and the compostable waste is discharged for vermicomposting. Biodegradable waste must be present for the vermicomposting system to transform it into fertilizer. This fertilizer is utilized to support the campus orchards.
ACOP forbids the use of plastic, especially single-use plastics, on campus. Vendors are used to dispose of paper waste from departments, libraries, administrative offices, and hostels. For appropriate trash management, the waste is dutifully staked in specific locations and then disposed of by vendors.
The institute has a pond setup that can treat more than 50000 kilo litres of liquid waste per day, including sewage, laboratory, laundry, and canteen effluent waste. The campus's maintained plants and lawns are watered using all of the treated water. Consequently, all of the campus's waste water is treated and put to good use.
The best possible use is made of electronic devices. The technicians in the hardware department handle both the minor and major repairs significantly. ACOP and ElectroPro Systems have a memorandum of understanding under which they will purchase our broken computers and other non-repairable electronic debris and issue a recycling certificate. Electropro purchases unusable equipment and disassembles and remanufactures it into raw materials that are then sold as recyclable. Students utilize trash compact discs and other non-hazardous disposable products to decorate during college fests and events as a creative way to demonstrate the waste management behavior that has been instilled in their brains.

As a part of research activities carried in Aditya College of Pharmacy animal and microbiological studies are performed for training and gaining knowledge. While performing the experiments the usage of sharper objects like hypodermic or insulin needles, syringes, scalpels, broken glasses and any kind of disposals are properly managed by the institute. Hence ACOP went through a MoU with EVB Technologies party which has got enrolled for collecting, transporting, safe disinfecting and disposal of Bio-Medical Waste generated by Aditya College of Pharmacy. As per the memorandum of understanding ACOP will make available needle destroyers in their premises to ensure that all disposable syringes and needles are destroyed including syringe heads immediately after use thus ensuing prevention of any reuse or misuse of used syringes and needles since reuse is dangerously hazardous.
